Holiday Lighting on the Common
Sunday, December 01 2013Hits : 179

Enjoy hot chocolate, characters, sit with Santa, and trim the tree!

From 2:30 to about 5:30 p.m., the annual Holiday on the Common will take place. Donate an unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots, and you can sit with Santa and have a photo emailed to you by photographer Lou Glass from Paradise Photo and Video. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies. Ornaments can be decorated and placed on the town tree. There will also be representative from the Natick Service Council collecting canned goods to help fill the food pantry. Town officials will speak at 4:45 p.m., followed by the lighting of downtown.

A few yards away, near the bus shelter, the Chabad Center will conduct its annual Menorah Lighting at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate Hanukkah. Hot chocolate and latkes will be available.

Across the street, First Congregational Church will stage its Alternative Holiday Fair from 2-5 p.m. (approximate).

Don't forget to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, and a nonperishable food item for the Natick Service Council Food Pantry.

Sunday's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with temps in the high 30s; in case rain creeps in, the Holiday Lighting portion will be held at the Community Senior Center.
