SUMMARY:Marc Cohn
DESCRIPTION:After winning a Grammy for his soulful ballad “Walking in Memphis\,” Marc Cohn solidified his place as one of this generation’s most compelling singer-songwriters\, combining the precision of a brilliant tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man. Rooted in the rich ground of American rhythm and blues\, soul and gospel and possessed of a deft storyteller’s pen\, he weaves vivid\, detailed\, often drawn-from-life tales that evoke some of our most universal human feelings: love\, hope\, faith\, joy\, heartbreak. \nIn 2019\, Marc released a collaborative record with gospel legends Blind Boys of Alabama titled ‘Work To Do’ which was released on BMG. ‘Work to Do’ is comprised of three studio tracks plus seven intimate live performances recorded at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook\, CT\, during a taping of the PBS series The Kate. Original plans were to release an EP containing the studio tracks\, but the excitement and magic captured during the taping inspired the decision to create this unique hybrid album. \n2019 was a busy year for Marc\, consisting of 75 shows in about 65 cities. Moving forward\, Marc continues to do what he does best: infuse American music with both a fresh perspective and a reverence for its deep roots. \nVisit: marccohnmusic.com

SUMMARY:Lez Zeppelin
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2004 by New York guitarist\, Steph Paynes\, the all-girl quartet\, Lez Zeppelin\, has since gained unanimous critical acclaim as one of the most exciting live acts around\, becoming the first female rock act to pay homage to led zeppelin and to garner rave reviews across the board. Lez Zeppelin stays true to the musically audacious spirit of the original\, delivering the legendary rock band’s blistering arrangements and monstrous sound note-for-note at sold-out frenzied shows around the world. In June\, 2013\, Jimmy Page attended their show in London and said of the group\, “they played the Led Zeppelin music with an extraordinary sensuality and an energy and passion that highlighted their superb musicianship.” \n\nSpin magazine called them “the most powerful all-female band in rock history.” For those skeptics who still dare to ask: can four women pull off the exuberant\, powerful\, and musically intricate performances for which Led Zeppelin are known\, a Lez Zeppelin show is nothing short of a revelation. \nIn this year’s show\, Lez Zeppelin will be performing Physical Graffiti in its entirety in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the release of the album. \nVisit: lezzeppelin.com

SUMMARY:The Life of Chuck (2025)
DESCRIPTION:From visionary filmmaker Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep) and based on a novella by Stephen King\, The Life of Chuck is a deeply moving and unexpected journey through one man’s extraordinary life — told in reverse. \nWhen mysterious billboards begin thanking Charles Krantz for “39 great years” as the world slowly unravels\, we’re drawn into a surreal and poignant mystery. Is Chuck (Tom Hiddleston) just an ordinary man… or is the fate of the universe somehow tied to his life? \nTold in three unforgettable acts — blending music\, memory\, and metaphysical wonder — this isn’t a horror film\, but a heartfelt celebration of what makes life meaningful. The Life of Chuck is a lyrical\, mind-bending meditation on love\, loss\, and the beauty found in every moment. \nDirector: Mike Flanagan\nCast: Tom Hiddleston\, Chiwetel Ejiofor\, Mark Hamill\, Karen Gillan\, Jacob Tremblay\, Nick Offerman\nRating: R\nRuntime: 1 hour 51 mins\nReleased: June 13\, 2025\nFormat: DCP Widescreen Scope 2.39:1\nAudio: 7.1 Surround\nAccessibility: Z-Screen subtitles\, Audio Description (headphones)\, Assisted Listening (headphones)

SUMMARY:TCAN Open Mic
DESCRIPTION:TCAN Open Mic night isn’t about individuals so much as it is about a feeling: Hallways filled with artists tuning vintage guitars\, changing strings of steel and quietly rehearsing fragments of lyrical poetry; nervous first-timers hitting their stride on a high note or a magical turn of phrase; seasoned veterans rediscovering their music by sharing new songs and old favorites with appreciative audiences of supportive peers. \nAll musicians and spoken word performers are invited to participate in this monthly event. Come early to sign-in as a performer\, or to get a great seat for one of the most successful and entertaining open mic nights on the East coast. Each TCAN Open Mic night features a variety of new and experienced performers. Come and see why TCAN has become the gathering spot to see and meet local artists and nationally recognized touring performers. \nEvents: TCAN Open Mic events are held monthly. Admission is “pay-what-you-can” with suggested donation. \nRegistration: Open to all ages. Participants sign up on arrival\, and each perform one song (original or cover) in order. Time permitting\, the rotation repeats until the end of the evening. A thirty minute performance by a guest performer is sometimes scheduled at each TCAN Open Mic event. These features are selected in advance by the Program Director. \nAdditional Information:  Signup begins at 7:00pm and performances begin at 7:30pm. Please do not arrive prior to 7:00pm without prior approval of the Program Director. We have a great sound system you can plug your guitar into\, and a Roland Juno DS-88 keyboard is available for performers to use. Musicians may bring CDs\, postcards\, and gig cards for distribution.

SUMMARY:Adam Ezra Group
DESCRIPTION:If you haven’t connected with Adam Ezra Group yet\, these are just a few examples to help you understand how this underground\, Americana songwriter and his bandmates seem to have popped out of nowhere\, establishing a connection with their fans unlike any other\, and are suddenly selling out theaters throughout the Northeast.   \nAdam Ezra will joke with you that while the “nowhere” part might be accurate\, nothing has ever just “popped” for this folk musician\, activist.  Without resources\, connections\, or any kind of clue how the music world works\, Ezra began playing shows over 20 years ago.  When music venues wouldn’t hire him\, he played bars\, bookstores\, fields\, and parking lots\, often raising money for causes he cared about; a practice that grew into his nonprofit organization RallySound.  \n“We’d play 5 hours a night\,” Adam reminisces\, “more often than not\, in danger of outnumbering the audiences we were playing for…” \nSo how did this band operating so far outside the traditional music world come to win New England Music Award’s “Americana Act of the Year” in 2023?  What could have happened to inspire John Oates to call Adam and invite him to begin a songwriting friendship that would lead to John producing their latest release and co-write\, “Hold Each Other Now”?  What happened to catch the attention of The Wallflowers\, who recently invited AEG to join them on their spring tour\, or SPIN Magazine who recently proclaimed\, “This Independent Underground Folk Band Is Blowing Up Without Selling Out”?  \nIf you ask Adam\, he’ll tell you: \n“One person at a time\, over many years and thousands of shows\, decided to turn their heads to listen.  One person at a time decided to share our music with folks they care about.  That’s always been our story.  It’s no fairytale\, but it sure makes me proud and humbled when I look out from the stage to watch theaters full of people singing along to our music.” \nThese days you’ll find Adam and his bandmates\, Corinna Smith (Fiddle)\, Poche Ponce (Bass)\, and Alex Martin (Percussion)\, constantly out on the road.  If you look at their tour schedule now\, you can buy tickets to see them at festivals\, rock venues\, and theaters around the country\, but you will also see their tour continuously peppered with activism and grassroots events; a testament to an artist who will never forget where he came from\, and whose mission is about much more than music. \nVisit: adamezra.com
