SUMMARY:Adam Ezra Group
DESCRIPTION:If you haven’t connected with Adam Ezra Group yet\, these are just a few examples to help you understand how this underground\, Americana songwriter and his bandmates seem to have popped out of nowhere\, establishing a connection with their fans unlike any other\, and are suddenly selling out theaters throughout the Northeast.   \nAdam Ezra will joke with you that while the “nowhere” part might be accurate\, nothing has ever just “popped” for this folk musician\, activist.  Without resources\, connections\, or any kind of clue how the music world works\, Ezra began playing shows over 20 years ago.  When music venues wouldn’t hire him\, he played bars\, bookstores\, fields\, and parking lots\, often raising money for causes he cared about; a practice that grew into his nonprofit organization RallySound.  \n“We’d play 5 hours a night\,” Adam reminisces\, “more often than not\, in danger of outnumbering the audiences we were playing for…” \nSo how did this band operating so far outside the traditional music world come to win New England Music Award’s “Americana Act of the Year” in 2023?  What could have happened to inspire John Oates to call Adam and invite him to begin a songwriting friendship that would lead to John producing their latest release and co-write\, “Hold Each Other Now”?  What happened to catch the attention of The Wallflowers\, who recently invited AEG to join them on their spring tour\, or SPIN Magazine who recently proclaimed\, “This Independent Underground Folk Band Is Blowing Up Without Selling Out”?  \nIf you ask Adam\, he’ll tell you: \n“One person at a time\, over many years and thousands of shows\, decided to turn their heads to listen.  One person at a time decided to share our music with folks they care about.  That’s always been our story.  It’s no fairytale\, but it sure makes me proud and humbled when I look out from the stage to watch theaters full of people singing along to our music.” \nThese days you’ll find Adam and his bandmates\, Corinna Smith (Fiddle)\, Poche Ponce (Bass)\, and Alex Martin (Percussion)\, constantly out on the road.  If you look at their tour schedule now\, you can buy tickets to see them at festivals\, rock venues\, and theaters around the country\, but you will also see their tour continuously peppered with activism and grassroots events; a testament to an artist who will never forget where he came from\, and whose mission is about much more than music. \nVisit: adamezra.com

SUMMARY:Jon Butcher Axis
DESCRIPTION:Grammy-nominated guitarist and New England Music Hall of Famer Jon Butcher created a signature sound unlike anyone else. His powerful soul-infused vocals and his guitar work reflect a skillful mix of Rock and R&B\, Funk and Soul\, Jazz and Americana\, all of it focused through a prism built from the Blues. Jon’s powerhouse live performances with bandmates Chris Martin ( bass)\,  Marty Richards (drums) are electrifying and not surprisingly playing to packed venues everywhere. \nJon Butcher’s newest recording NUTHIN’ but SOUL is classic R&B inflected Roots music\, at once fresh and familiar. It’s also Jon’s best songwriting to date. “I love the blues – Otis Rush\, Freddie King\, and the soul of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. That music represented a chaotic time in America. It also produced some of the most memorable music the world had seen. That for me was the eternal groove. Nuthin but SOUL rides that groove.” \nThis is Jon Butcher’s signature album\, rich in cinematic stories and intense in raw performances by Jon and his cast of players. \nVisit: jonbutcher.com

SUMMARY:Virtual: “Dead End Road” with True Crime Author E.C. Hanson
DESCRIPTION:In June 1977\, Renee Freer\, nicknamed Giggles\, went out to play with her friends. A few hours later\, she was found bludgeoned to death with a rock. SUMMARY:The Song Remains The Same (1976)
DESCRIPTION:The Song Remains the Same is a 1976 concert film featuring the English rock band Led Zeppelin. A box office success and cultural touchstone for Led Zeppelin fans\, the soundtrack received a Platinum Award from Atlantic Records. \nThe filming took place during the summer of 1973\, during three nights of concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City\, with additional footage shot at Shepperton Studios. The film premiered three years later on 20 October 1976 at Cinema I in New York\, on 21 October 1976 at Fox Wilshire in Beverly Hills\, and at Warner West End Cinema in London two weeks later.  It was accompanied by a soundtrack album of the same name. \nOn the morning of 20 July 1973\, during the band’s concert tour of the US\, Peter Grant made contact with American-born director Joe Massot. Massot was already known to Grant as he and his wife had moved into a house in Berkshire in 1970\, where they made friends with their neighbours\, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and his girlfriend Charlotte Martin. Grant had previously turned down offers by Massot to make a film of the band\, but with the huge success of the band’s current tour\, Grant changed his mind and offered him the job of director. As Grant recalled: \n“It all started in the Sheraton Hotel\, Boston. We’d talked about a film for years and Jimmy had known Joe Massot was interested – so we called them and over they came. SUMMARY:VANISH: Disappearing Icons of a Rural America – streaming documentary film
DESCRIPTION:VANISH chronicles the “visual preservation” adventures of fine art photographer\, Jim Westphalen\, as he travels across the country seeking out and creating stunning imagery of America’s disappearing rural structures.
