GE Smith was sought out by major recording artists like Jagger\, who\, shortly after Live Aid\, called Smith to work with him on his first solo album\, She’s the Boss. During this period Smith also did a few one-off recordings and concerts with David Bowie and Peter Wolfe. He just finished a three year run with Roger Water’s WALL LIVE worldwide tour. \nVisit: jimweider.com and gesmithmusic.com

SUMMARY:Live from Laurel Canyon
DESCRIPTION:Live from Laurel Canyon – Songs and Stories of American Folk Rock is an evening of live music and narrated stories of some of the most influential songwriters who lived in Laurel Canyon in the mid 1960’s and 70’s. Similar to other legendary rock and roll neighborhoods of the same era like Haight Ashbury in San Fransisco or Greenwich Village in NYC\, Laurel Canyon was a community of artists who would forge a new genre of music (Folk Rock) and forever change the look\, sound and attitude of American pop music. Live from Laurel Canyon celebrates The Mamas and The Papas\, the Byrds\, Buffalo Springfield\, Doors\, Crosby\, Stills\, Nash\, Neil Young\, James Taylor\, Carole King\, Joni Mitchell\, Jackson Browne\, Linda Ronstadt\, America\, and the Eagles with their own unique interpretations of some of the most iconic songs of the era. \nMuch more than a ‘tribute’ act\, Live from Laurel Canyon not only performs the music you love in a new and unique way but shares with you the stories that inspired them. Live from Laurel Canyon is a journey through a special time in American pop music… won’t you join them? \nVisit: livefromlaurelcanyon.com

SUMMARY:VIRTUAL: Amalia Kussner’s Paintings & The Characters Of The HBO Series "The Gilded Age"
DESCRIPTION:Amalia Kussner was one of the preferred artists of Gilded Age New York\, especially in the 1890s when she painted miniature portraits of the elites. Fans of the critically acclaimed HBO series\, The Gilded Age\, will appreciate Kussner’s portraits of several key characters\, including Mrs. Astor\, the reigning matriarch of the social scene and her two daughters; famed actress Lillian Russell; English soprano Marie Tempest; and wealthy socialite Consuelo Vanderbilt.  Kussner even met Ward McAllister\, the arbiter of Gilded Age society. He advised her not to pursue her career as an artist and\, thankfully\, she ignored him. \nIn this program\, author and historical researcher Kathleen Langone will reveal how Kussner’s portraits and interactions with these famous people can provide more insights into their extravagant lives. \nKathleen Langone is the host of the podcast People Hidden In History and the author of the book Miniature Painter Revealed: Amalia Kussner’s Gilded Age Pursuit of Fame and Fortune. \nThis program is held in collaboration with the Bacon Free Library and the Tewksbury Public Library. \n  \nPlease register to receive the Zoom link. \n  \nRECORDING NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program.

SUMMARY:TCAN Players: Rumors by Neil Simon
DESCRIPTION:The TCAN Players return with their production of Rumors – a play written by Neil Simon\, and directed at TCAN by Steve Small. \nAt a large\, tastefully-appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse\, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. The first guests\, lawyer Ken Gorman and his wife Chris\, scramble to get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. SUMMARY:Ellis Paul
DESCRIPTION:Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition and details the hopes\, loves\, losses of those he observes\, turning their stories into luminous pieces of music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced him\, everyone from Joni Mitchell\, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration\, Woody Guthrie\, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless. \nBorn and raised in Maine\, Paul attended Boston College on a track scholarship and in the evenings became a fixture on the city’s open mic circuit. After winning a Boston Acoustic Underground songwriter competition\, he caught the ear of folk luminary Bill Morrissey\, who produced his indie album Say Something in 1993. This led to a seven album contract with Rounder Records and the 1994 album\, Stories. \nHis songs have appeared in several blockbuster films (Me\, Myself\, and Irene; Shallow Hal\, Hall Pass) and have been covered by award winning country artists (Sugarland\, Kristian Bush\, Jack Ingram). Through a steady succession of albums of his own – a remarkable 23 releases so far – and a constant touring presence around the world\, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans. Along the way\, he has picked up an impressive number of awards including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award\, 15 Boston Music Awards\, An Honorary Doctorate from the University of Maine\, the 2019 International Acoustic Music Awards Artist of the Year and most recently his album\, The Storyteller’s Suitcase\, was named the 2019 NERFA Album of the Year. His new album 55 touches on the necessity of gratitude in a difficult era of the pandemic and divided political stances on his own imprint\, Rosella Records. \nVisit: ellispaul.com
