For more than two decades\, this wordsmith\, TedX speaker\, stand-up comic\, author\, and troubadour\, has delighted audiences around the world. SUMMARY:Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets
DESCRIPTION:Nick Lowe has made his mark as a producer (Elvis Costello-Graham Parker-Pretenders-The Damned)\, songwriter of at least three songs you know by heart\, short-lived career as a pop star\, and a lengthy term as a musicians’ musician. But in his current ‘second act’ as a silver-haired\, tender-hearted but sharp-tongued singer-songwriter\, he has no equal. \n\nStarting with 1995′s ‘The Impossible Bird’ through to 2011′s ‘The Old Magic\,’ Nick has turned out a fantastic string of albums\, each one devised in his West London home\, and recorded with a core of musicians who possess the same veteran savvy. Lowe brings wit and understated excellence to every performance\, leading Ben Ratliff of the New York Times to describe his live show as “elegant and nearly devastating.” \nLos Straitjackets are the leading practitioners of the lost art of the guitar instrumental. Using the music of the Ventures\, The Shadows\, and with Link Wray and Dick Dale as a jumping off point\, the band has taken their unique\, high energy brand of original rock & roll around the world. Clad in their trademark Lucha Libre Mexican wrestling masks\, the “Jackets” have delivered their trademark guitar licks to 16 albums\, thousands of concerts and dozens of films and TV shows. \nTogether Nick & The Straitjackets have toured extensively around Europe and the United States\, and are releasing an EP of new songs in June 2017. \nVisit: nicklowe.com losstraitjackets.com

SUMMARY:Darlingside
DESCRIPTION:Exquisitely arranged\, literary-minded\, baroque folk-pop. Comprised of Don Mitchell\, Auyon Mukharji\, Harris Paseltiner and David Senft\, four likeminded multi-instrumentalists who first met at Williams College in 2009\, Darlingside’s career has been defined by the elegance of their compositions and the unity of their four voices. Their talent for harmony and melodic world-building is part of what garnered praise from outlets like NPR\, Rolling Stone\, and The New Yorker\, and what has created demand worldwide for their extraordinary live performances. \nEverything Is Alive\, Darlingside’s fourth LP\, marks a subtle but remarkable departure for the Boston-based quartet NPR once described as “exquisitely arranged\, literary minded\, baroque folk-pop.” While the album retains much of the lushness and sophistication of Extralife (2018) and Fish Pond Fish (2020)\, the band’s latest work decisively exposes and differentiates the individual voices of the four songwriters—a daring reinvention for a group known for ubiquitous vocal harmonies. Grappling with change both personal and universal\, with quandaries domestic and existential\, Everything Is Alive is an album about loss and the struggle for a semblance of redemption. \nVisit: darlingside.com

SUMMARY:Marc Cohn
DESCRIPTION:After winning a Grammy for his soulful ballad “Walking in Memphis\,” Marc Cohn solidified his place as one of this generation’s most compelling singer-songwriters\, combining the precision of a brilliant tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man. Rooted in the rich ground of American rhythm and blues\, soul and gospel and possessed of a deft storyteller’s pen\, he weaves vivid\, detailed\, often drawn-from-life tales that evoke some of our most universal human feelings: love\, hope\, faith\, joy\, heartbreak. \nIn 2019\, Marc released a collaborative record with gospel legends Blind Boys of Alabama titled ‘Work To Do’ which was released on BMG. ‘Work to Do’ is comprised of three studio tracks plus seven intimate live performances recorded at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook\, CT\, during a taping of the PBS series The Kate. Original plans were to release an EP containing the studio tracks\, but the excitement and magic captured during the taping inspired the decision to create this unique hybrid album. \n2019 was a busy year for Marc\, consisting of 75 shows in about 65 cities. Moving forward\, Marc continues to do what he does best: infuse American music with both a fresh perspective and a reverence for its deep roots. \nVisit: marccohnmusic.com

In June\, 2013\, Jimmy Page attended their show in London and said of the group\, “they played the Led Zeppelin music with an extraordinary sensuality and an energy and passion that highlighted their superb musicianship.” \n\nSpin magazine called them “the most powerful all-female band in rock history.” For those skeptics who still dare to ask: can four women pull off the exuberant\, powerful\, and musically intricate performances for which Led Zeppelin are known\, a Lez Zeppelin show is nothing short of a revelation. \nIn this year’s show\, Lez Zeppelin will be performing Physical Graffiti in its entirety in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the release of the album. \nVisit: lezzeppelin.com

SUMMARY:Adam Ezra Group
DESCRIPTION:If you haven’t connected with Adam Ezra Group yet\, these are just a few examples to help you understand how this underground\, Americana songwriter and his bandmates seem to have popped out of nowhere\, establishing a connection with their fans unlike any other\, and are suddenly selling out theaters throughout the Northeast.   \nAdam Ezra will joke with you that while the “nowhere” part might be accurate\, nothing has ever just “popped” for this folk musician\, activist.  Without resources\, connections\, or any kind of clue how the music world works\, Ezra began playing shows over 20 years ago.  When music venues wouldn’t hire him\, he played bars\, bookstores\, fields\, and parking lots\, often raising money for causes he cared about; a practice that grew into his nonprofit organization RallySound.  \n“We’d play 5 hours a night\,” Adam reminisces\, “more often than not\, in danger of outnumbering the audiences we were playing for…” \nSo how did this band operating so far outside the traditional music world come to win New England Music Award’s “Americana Act of the Year” in 2023?  What could have happened to inspire John Oates to call Adam and invite him to begin a songwriting friendship that would lead to John producing their latest release and co-write\, “Hold Each Other Now”?  What happened to catch the attention of The Wallflowers\, who recently invited AEG to join them on their spring tour\, or SPIN Magazine who recently proclaimed\, “This Independent Underground Folk Band Is Blowing Up Without Selling Out”?  \nIf you ask Adam\, he’ll tell you: \n“One person at a time\, over many years and thousands of shows\, decided to turn their heads to listen.  One person at a time decided to share our music with folks they care about.  That’s always been our story.  It’s no fairytale\, but it sure makes me proud and humbled when I look out from the stage to watch theaters full of people singing along to our music.” \nThese days you’ll find Adam and his bandmates\, Corinna Smith (Fiddle)\, Poche Ponce (Bass)\, and Alex Martin (Percussion)\, constantly out on the road.  If you look at their tour schedule now\, you can buy tickets to see them at festivals\, rock venues\, and theaters around the country\, but you will also see their tour continuously peppered with activism and grassroots events; a testament to an artist who will never forget where he came from\, and whose mission is about much more than music. \nVisit: adamezra.com

SUMMARY:Jon Butcher Axis
DESCRIPTION:Grammy-nominated guitarist and New England Music Hall of Famer Jon Butcher created a signature sound unlike anyone else. His powerful soul-infused vocals and his guitar work reflect a skillful mix of Rock and R&B\, Funk and Soul\, Jazz and Americana\, all of it focused through a prism built from the Blues. Jon’s powerhouse live performances with bandmates Chris Martin ( bass)\,  Marty Richards (drums) are electrifying and not surprisingly playing to packed venues everywhere. \nJon Butcher’s newest recording NUTHIN’ but SOUL is classic R&B inflected Roots music\, at once fresh and familiar. It’s also Jon’s best songwriting to date. “I love the blues – Otis Rush\, Freddie King\, and the soul of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. That music represented a chaotic time in America. It also produced some of the most memorable music the world had seen. That for me was the eternal groove. Nuthin but SOUL rides that groove.” \nThis is Jon Butcher’s signature album\, rich in cinematic stories and intense in raw performances by Jon and his cast of players. \nVisit: jonbutcher.com

The film premiered three years later on 20 October 1976 at Cinema I in New York\, on 21 October 1976 at Fox Wilshire in Beverly Hills\, and at Warner West End Cinema in London two weeks later.  It was accompanied by a soundtrack album of the same name. \nOn the morning of 20 July 1973\, during the band’s concert tour of the US\, Peter Grant made contact with American-born director Joe Massot. Massot was already known to Grant as he and his wife had moved into a house in Berkshire in 1970\, where they made friends with their neighbours\, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and his girlfriend Charlotte Martin. Grant had previously turned down offers by Massot to make a film of the band\, but with the huge success of the band’s current tour\, Grant changed his mind and offered him the job of director. As Grant recalled: \n“It all started in the Sheraton Hotel\, Boston. We’d talked about a film for years and Jimmy had known Joe Massot was interested – so we called them and over they came. It was all very quickly arranged”. \nMusical highlights of the film include “Black Dog\,” “Dazed and Confused\,” “Stairway to Heaven\,” “Whole Lotta Love\,” and “Rain Song\,” performed live at Madison Square Garden. \nDirector: Peter Clifton\, Joe Massot\nCast: Robert Plant\, Jimmy Page\, John Paul Jones\nRating: PG\nRuntime: 2 hours 17 mins\nReleased: 1976\nFormat: Blu Ray\nAudio: 5.1 Surround\nAccessibility: Z-Screen subtitles \nVisit: https: songremainsthesame.com

SUMMARY:TCAN Players: And Then There Were None
DESCRIPTION:The TCAN Players return with Agatha Christie’s masterwork of suspense\, And Then There Were None – where ten strangers are summoned to a remote island—and justice waits in the shadows. \nTen strangers\, each harboring a dark secret\, are lured to a secluded island estate under false pretenses. Their mysterious hosts are nowhere to be found—only a chilling recording accuses each guest of a terrible crime. Then\, one by one\, the guests begin to die\, their fates eerily mirroring the verses of a sinister nursery rhyme displayed in the house. \nWith the island cut off by a storm\, suspicion grows as the survivors struggle to understand the method behind the madness. Is the killer among them? Or is there someone—or something—else pulling the strings? \nChristie’s most celebrated and harrowing whodunit is the world’s best-selling mystery and one of the best-selling books of all time. The plot unfolds with taut pacing\, sharp dialogue\, and an atmosphere thick with dread\, exploring themes of morality\, retribution\, and the human psyche under pressure. Its surprise ending\, considered one of the greatest in crime fiction\, will leave audiences breathless. \nPrepare for a night of riveting theatre that proves no sin goes unpunished… and no one is beyond suspicion. \nDirected by Paul Dixon\nProduced by Jeannie Baycroft and Richard Mandel \nCAST\nMr. Rogers – Lou Fuoco (Cambridge)\nMrs. Rogers – Susan Diller (Brookline)\nVera Claythorne – Laura DeCesare (Arlington)\nPhilip Lombard – Eric Cheung (Boston)\nAnthony Marston – Sam Deans (Marlborough)\nWilliam Blore – Dan Henderson (Needham)\nGeneral MacKenzie – Mark Adams (Norwood)\nEmily Brent – Pamela Schweppe (Maynard)\nJustice Wargrave – Julian Willard (Marlborough)\nDr. Armstrong – Bill Novakowski (Ashland) \nPERFORMANCES \nFriday\, June 6\, 2025 | 7:30pm\nSaturday\, June 7\, 2025 | 7:30pm\nSunday\, June 8\, 2025 | 2:00pm\nThursday\, June 12\, 2025 | 7:30pm\nFriday\, June 13\, 2025 | 7:30pm\nSaturday\, June 14\, 2025 | 7:30pm\nSunday\, June 15\, 2025 | 2:00pm

SUMMARY:Paula Cole
DESCRIPTION:Paula Cole has been a truth-teller\, a provocateur\, a feminist\, a rebel\, and a brilliant autobiographical writer who has pushed for personal honesty and social change. An artful weaver of genre\, she is difficult to categorize – she is simply Paula Cole. \nAfter gaining attention for her performances as a vocalist on Peter Gabriel’s 1993–1994 Secret World Tour\, her second album This Fire (1996) brought her worldwide acclaim\, peaking at number 20 on the Billboard 200 album chart and producing two hit singles\, the triple-Grammy nominated “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?”\, which reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1997\, and “I Don’t Want to Wait”\, which was used as the theme song of the television show Dawson’s Creek. \nPaula Cole’s eleventh studio album\, “Lo” is devastatingly personal and utterly gorgeous.  Her first album of original compositions in five years\, “Lo”’s eleven songs\, written entirely by Cole\, navigate her opening to trust again after indelible blows of life. As the first woman to ever be nominated for the Best Producer Grammy in her own right\, Paula Cole returns to the helm of recording as sole producer.
