SUMMARY:Stick Men
DESCRIPTION:Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto\, the powerhouse bass and drums of the group King Crimson for a few decades\, bring that tradition to all their playing. Levin plays the Chapman Stick\, from which the band takes its name. Having bass and guitar strings\, the Chapman Stick functions at times like two instruments. Markus Reuter plays his self-designed touch style guitar – again covering much more ground than a guitar or a bass. And Mastelotto’s drumming encompasses not just the acoustic kit\, but a unique electronic setup too\, allowing him to add loops\, samples\, percussion\, and more. \nMembers of Stick Men have recorded on albums that sold over 100 million records worldwide and all 4 individual members have played collectively in many different projects in the past 5 decades in over 90 countries worldwide. \nVisit: stickmen.com

SUMMARY:Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes
DESCRIPTION:When a stage four lymphoma diagnosis forced him off the road and into the hospital\, Chuck Prophet didn’t know if he’d live long enough to see the end of the year\, let alone get back on tour. \n“I was going through a tunnel\,” he recalls. “It was dark. But I had music: music to play\, music to listen to\, music to get me out of my head. Music was my savior.” \nThat much is plain to hear on Wake The Dead\, Prophet’s extraordinary new album. Recorded with band of brothers ¿Qiensave?\, the collection explores the world of Cumbia music\, which consumed and comforted Prophet during his illness and subsequent recovery. The songs are intoxicatingly rhythmic\, all but demanding you move your body\, with arrangements that blur the lines between tradition and innovation. There are flashes of rock and roll\, punk\, surf\, and soul\, all filtered through the streets of San Francisco and wrapped up in the rich legacy of a genre that traces its roots back to the jungles of South America. \nCaptured live in the studio\, Wake The Dead resumes Prophet’s streak of more than a dozen critically acclaimed solo albums stretching all the way back to 1990\, when the California native first shifted focus from pioneering neo-psych band Green on Red to working under his own name. Since then\, Prophet—who’s now in full remission—has earned raves everywhere from Rolling Stone to NPR\, landed songs in a slew of films and television shows\, and seen his work covered by Bruce Springsteen\, Solomon Burke\, and Heart\, among others. \nVisit: chuckprophet.com

SUMMARY:Ellis Paul
DESCRIPTION:Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition and details the hopes\, loves\, losses of those he observes\, turning their stories into luminous pieces of music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced him\, everyone from Joni Mitchell\, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration\, Woody Guthrie\, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless. \nBorn and raised in Maine\, Paul attended Boston College on a track scholarship and in the evenings became a fixture on the city’s open mic circuit. After winning a Boston Acoustic Underground songwriter competition\, he caught the ear of folk luminary Bill Morrissey\, who produced his indie album Say Something in 1993. This led to a seven album contract with Rounder Records and the 1994 album\, Stories. \nHis songs have appeared in several blockbuster films (Me\, Myself\, and Irene; Shallow Hal\, Hall Pass) and have been covered by award winning country artists (Sugarland\, Kristian Bush\, Jack Ingram). Through a steady succession of albums of his own – a remarkable 23 releases so far – and a constant touring presence around the world\, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans. Along the way\, he has picked up an impressive number of awards including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award\, 15 Boston Music Awards\, An Honorary Doctorate from the University of Maine\, the 2019 International Acoustic Music Awards Artist of the Year and most recently his album\, The Storyteller’s Suitcase\, was named the 2019 NERFA Album of the Year. His new album 55 touches on the necessity of gratitude in a difficult era of the pandemic and divided political stances on his own imprint\, Rosella Records. \nVisit: ellispaul.com

SUMMARY:Gadan
DESCRIPTION:Gadan is a storming new band blending the drive of Irish Traditional Music and Celtgrass with the soul of folk and Appalachian music… all spiced with unmistakable Italian seasoning! \nFeaturing three young yet seasoned Italian folk musicians from the Irish trad and European folk scene\, Gadan joined forces in 2024 with Enda Scahill\, tenor banjo legend and founder of the acclaimed Irish band We Banjo 3. From 2025\, the group also welcomes Eric Long – a talented songwriter and clawhammer banjo player originally from the Appalachian heartland of Pennsylvania and now based in San Francisco – adding a deep\, rootsy flavor to the group’s already distinctive transatlantic sound. \nWith no less than three outrageous\, unlawful\, and audacious banjos – plus fiddle\, mandolin\, and guitar – Gadan delivers a powerful “strings-only” sound\, driven by a relentless rhythmic pulse. Their high-energy live performances and magnetic stage presence prove you don’t need drums to make people groove. \nOver the past three years\, Gadan has completed five successful U.S. tours\, performing on prestigious stages across the country – from intimate folk venues to major Celtic festivals. They are quickly earning a reputation as one of the “most exciting revelations in the contemporary folk and Celtic music scene”. \nWith a bold sound\, a fresh approach to tradition\, and a growing international following\, Gadan is redefining the boundaries of folk music – one banjo at a time. \nVisit: gadanband.com

SUMMARY:Deborah Henson-Conant
DESCRIPTION:Deborah Henson-Conant performs internationally in concert halls\, theaters\, opera houses\, and private salons across the U.S. and Europe. Striding onto stage\, her harp strapped on as if it were one with her body\, a blend of human and instrument\, she pulls sounds from the strings that you would never have imagined could grace the instrument handed out at the Pearly Gates: from intimate ballads to Blues\, Flamenco and Latin inspired originals. All with a powerful singing voice\, humor and stories. \nShe fluidly shifts between solo shows and collaborative formats\, soloist with symphony and chamber ensembles\, and collaborator with dance companies\,  theatrical productions and other musicians. Henson-Conant’s work is characterized by its transformational\, intimate\, and virtuosic qualities that can be both funny and heart-stoppingly beautiful. \nUsing a looper pedal\, Henson-Conant weaves sound and rhythm-scapes spontaneously as she plays\, layering her harp\,  to create rich\, multi-dimensional\, alost symphonic solo performances\,   building complex musical textures in real-time\, creting depth from percussive harp techniques to vocal harmonies – she can create the effect of a full ensemble while maintaining the intimacy and spontaneity of a solo artist. \nVisit: deborah-henson-conant.com

SUMMARY:BLKBOK
DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in Detroit’s inner-city\, BLKBOK (born Charles Wilson III)\, grew up in a music-filled house and by the time he was 8\, BLKBOK was an acclaimed piano prodigy\, winning statewide accolades and college-level competitions. When it came to music\, most of the kids he grew up with pursued hip-hop\, adopting rap names. However\, it’s no coincidence that Charles chose the name BLKBOK\, which echoes that of one of the greatest pianists and composers of all time. The tag is also an apt reflection of the elements that have contributed to the artist’s identity and symbolizes his colorful journey from pop and hip-hop culture to his critically acclaimed\, neo-classical debut album Black Book\, and various Mixtape projects and collaborations. \nBLKBOK’s live\, high-energy performance is culturally reflective and seeks to entertain with a live piano based performance like none you have ever seen before. BLKBOK’s vision is to illuminate awareness for all\, encouraging dialogue and counterpoint in the way we perceive ourselves and the world we live in together. \nBLKBOK’s critically-acclaimed debut album Black Book\, served as a founding cornerstone at the very first Juneteenth Foundation’s Freedom Concert and was re-released as a DLUX Edition in June\, with two new tracks\, Forgotten Girls and Kendrick + Karine\, covering relevant topics in mainstream culture\, and in the voice that is uniquely BLKBOK.  His first Mixtape release\, CVRART\, and Mixtape project Angels Watching Over Me\, with world-renowned tenor Lawrence Brownlee\, illustrate the innovative and disruptive musical landscape that is BLKBOK. His original track Stars (Ad Astra) was performed as the first-ever piano duet from Space in April 2022.   \nIn 2025\, BLKBOK will release a highly anticipated mixtape and album\, continuing his mission to use music as a force for good and humanity. More than an artist\, he is a movement\, breaking barriers\, sparking dialogue\, and inspiring change through sound. \nVisit: blkbok.com
