Pictured are two colored women in traditional red clothing, smiling and posing for the camera

Celebrating the emancipation of African Americans in Texas in 1865, Natick held its first-ever Juneteenth event on June 19, 2023. The Natick Center Cultural District recognizes this important holiday as Natick is dedicated to teaching our younger generations the importance of Juneteenth. Natick Select Board member Kristen Pope expresses her gratitude for being able to raise her daughter in a town that celebrates the importance of this holiday. A great recap of the day’s events can be found in this article by the Natick Report https://www.natickreport.com/2023/06/naticks-first-juneteenth-celebration-is-joyous-significant-and-necessary/
