Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In 2022, James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed as co-CEOs of DC Studios, a newly formed division within Warner Bros. Discovery. This is part of a larger overhaul of the DC movie and TV franchises, intended to create a more unified, cohesive cinematic universe, similar to what Marvel Studios has done with the MCU. The shift to DC Studios is a way to reset the franchise under a more strategic and creative direction, with a focus on interconnected storytelling.
