Open dawn to dusk, Pegan Cove Park is owned by the Mass. Dept. of Environmental Management (within Cochituate State Park), and is managed jointly by the Natick Conservation Commission and the Natick Recreation and Parks Commission under a special, 25-year lease.
Pegan Cove is a lovely 22 acre park which includes at least 5 interesting habitat zones: meadow, stream, diverse woodlands, shore front on Pegan Cove (Lake Cochituate). This is a popular path for dog walkers and neighbors and is an easy 10 minute walk from Natick Center. This trail is maintained by the volunteer group Big Heart Little Feet Trail Buddies. There is a large parking area off of Washington Avenue just north of the railroad tracks.
